Swift actions can save lives, using an AED could possibly help to save a life.
If the electrical activity of the heart is disrupted it can cause a cardiac arrest. Anyone can have a cardiac arrest anywhere, at anytime - home, gym, work, out with friends or shopping. When used swiftly and safely the use of AED may help to restore the electrical activity of the heart back to a normal rhythm. Swift actions can save lives, using an AED could possibly help to save a life.
Anyone can use an AED in a cardiac arrest situation, the AED will give you verbal and/or visual prompts. There are more AEDs available in the community than ever before, look for the AED signs or find your nearest AED using a number of phone apps.
However, in the event of a cardiac arrest call 999 immediately and start CPR.

Have A Heart Scotland can come to you and provide your group, staff or organisation with AED training to improve awareness and skills should you ever require to use an AED.

If you have purchased an AED make sure you put a sign up to allow its location to be easily identified. Register your AED with your local ambulance service and The Circuit so that it can be located and accessed in an emergency situation.
